Working through chronic health issues is exhausting. What's even more exhausting is fighting the process, being stubborn, or beating yourself up because you are in this frustrating place. Helplessness sets in and so can depression.
I had this revelation in the middle of this. What if I stop fighting and let God comfort me? What if I can be brave and vulnerable and honest with where I am at? I had read in various places in the bible that God is the God of all comfort. This song is about that process.

Father, can I rest with You? Would You take my hand?
Could I lean against Your chest, as You hold me tight?
I am longing, I am yearning, for Your touch
Father, would You comfort me? Would You ease this pain?
Sorrow deep inside of me has resurfaced again.
I am searching, I am looking for Your peace.
I am waiting, waiting for You
I am longing, longing for You
Father, would You walk with me, through this flood, this fire?
I need you to strengthen me. I feel, oh so tired.
But I’ll keep seeking, I am knocking – looking for You
Father, I am on my knees. Lord, I’m letting go.
I’m laying my life at Your feet. I surrender now.
I am hungry, I am thirsty for Your love.
I am waiting, waiting for You.
I am longing, longing for You
I am waiting, waiting for You.
I am longing, longing for You
Father, as I rest with You, You take my hand.
I’m leaning up against Your chest, as You hold me tight.
I find comfort, I’m at peace here, In Your arms.
I am hidden under Your wings. You have lifted me above the storm
Scriptures:
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3 NLT
But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power. They will lift up theirs wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired. Isaiah 40:31 AMP
